Gyler Mydyti is a Post-Doctoral Researcher (Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship Holder) at the Chair of Architecture and Urban Design, ETH Zurich. She is currently developing a research on typological analysis of structures where living and working coexist, as a part of the Urban Made project. She obtained PhD degree in 2014 from the Politecnico di Milano, where she also taught town planning design studios from 2011 to 2014. While developing her PhD dissertation on City-University relationship and their effect on large urban transformations, she developed researches and workshops on the urban developments of Prishtina. Prior to her arrival in Zurich, she taught urban design and planning studios at the University of Prishtina and worked as a scientific consultant at the Municipality of Prishtina, Kosovo. She obtained the BSc degree in Architecture at the Istanbul Technical University in 2007, and the MSc Degree in Landscape Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano in 2009. She is the co-author of the Concrete Mushrooms book/research project and author of various articles and academical activities. Among professional experiences she has had in different countries, she has got significant ones in both Istanbul (2006-2007) and Milan (2007-2014).
