On May 2009, the new triple gymnasium ETH Sport Center Science City was officially inaugurated on the ETH Hönggerberg campus. The attractive, spacious and versatile sports facility was designed and built by the architect team Dietrich | Untertrifaller | Stäheli. The flat building is ideally embedded in the landscape and is characterized by the exemplary sustainability of its energy balance. This sports facility replaces the simple sport hall from 1978, which was planned by the architect Albert Heinrich Steiner. This monograph documents the previous building as well as the planning, construction and use of the new facility.
