Flora Steiger-Crawford was the first female architect to graduate from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in 1923 and then worked with her husband Rudolf Steiger in the joint architectural practice until she devoted herself entirely to sculpture in 1938. Their autobiographical notes are authentic testimonies to the pioneering days of Swiss Modernism. They are supplemented in the book by richly illustrated texts that pay tribute to their significance as architects, furniture designers and sculptors.
