Fritz Haller (1924–2013) is one of the most influential figures of the 20th century in the field of industrial construction. At the beginning of the 1960s he became known far beyond the borders of Switzerland as one of the protagonists of the so-called School of Solothurn. Haller’s oeuvre encompasses a remarkable spectrum of buildings and projects, ranging from school buildings, residential and commercial buildings, industrial halls and modular steel construction systems to digital planning tools. With contributions by authors from various disciplines, the monograph follows Haller’s idea of architecture, which is in an interdisciplinary field of tension with art, technology and science.
