Between 1929 and 1931, the Dutch painter and art theorist Theo van Doesburg (1883–1931) built a studio house for himself and his wife in Meudon near Paris. In this house of high conceptual and formal architectural quality, Van Doesburg’s thoughts on art and architecture flow together in an impressive way. The first monograph on Van Doesburg’s only completed building describes the building’s history as well as a comprehensive picture of the theoretical considerations of his architect and their implementation in practice.
