PROCESSING vs URBAN DESIGN | Helvepolis project
THE ATTRACTIVE CITY GENERATOR
with E. Augustynowicz and S. Sixt
The “Attractive City Generator” was conceived and developed as a part of a research project at the ETH in Zurich, at the chair of Computer Aided Architectural Design. Our aim is to explore urban design methodologies with the use of parametric programs based on object oriented programming. Our particular area of interest is interactivity in urban planning. In state-of-the-art software we spotted an opportunity for including citizens in the convoluted process of urban planning. Our tool can serve as a first step towards future city development, based on public debate and profound research on possible consequences of certain decisions.
