| MAS ETH ARCH/CAAD - 2005/06 - STUDENT PAGES Master of Advanced Studies in Architecture, Specialization in Computer Aided Architectural Design | 065-0005/6 Supervision: Prof. Dr. Ludger Hovestadt, Philipp Schaerer Chair of CAAD, ETH Zurich  Essm System, Modular building system with lightweight materials We contribute to the 2002 Eternit Architektur Preis which was not selected. The main goal of this competition was to design an structure, a shelter, for logistic, technical, touristic and cultural activities within the framework of 2.5x0.6x2.5 meter. Essm_system, is assembled out of prefabricated panels of panels of 2.5x0.6x2.5 meter, which is easy to handle during fabrication. Essm_systems has a lightweight construction thanks to the material PepCore? in combination with aluminum. The result of the PepCore? honeycomb structure is a very light and strong structure. An advantage is that this product already is bean fabricated which will decrease the production costs.
