vessel

Idea

A vessel contains, incorporates, represents a hidden content. It is a medium of communication that makes its content perceivable by means of form and material. As such, a vessel has to be seen as an artistic expression in itself, a sculpture! Therefore, my vessel isn't functional but acts as a self-portrait that is a geometric representation of myself.

Process Of Production

Because of the geometry of the surface its necessary to use several directions for the milling machines. After finishing one side of the surface a negative form out of foam will be cutted out as stabilizing base in order to prevent the 7mm thin shell from breaking when milling the opposite site.
