Milling Module | Assignment 2 | the Script

Maya Screenshots

the basic principals:
a block 40 x 40 x 14 cm is milled in different steps
25 'forces' morph the surface of the cube these transformations of the surface are 'frozen' by slumping plexiglas onto it

the plexiglas sheets are given a higher order to (first) form a linear structure

to make the elements fit together, their edges are built symmetrically

getting to the next dimension - translating and copying the elements

filling up the gaps

the main order of the elements in the block.

the transformed elements in the block.

trying to make the elements fit in both directions

nice result - but...

... the edges can't fit perfectly and...

...the surfaces intersect within the cube.
