[05.07.2006] The St. Galler Kantonalbank awarded Bach Heiden AG with the 3rd prize of "KMU Primus", an innovation award for companies. The prize was given on Wednesday 5th of July 2006 at Pfalzkeller St. Gallen by the bank's CEO Dr. Urs Rüegsegger. Bach Heiden is a traditional carpentry from Heiden that was founded in 1936 by Franz Bach I and is now managed in third generation. The carpentry Bach Heiden developed in close cooperation with the Chair of CAAD at the ETH Zürich automated production chains for timber construction. That way free form can be realized with automated detailing and fabrication. Computerized (CNC) fabrication technologies enable the creation of individually parameterized parts for almost the cost of a standardized mass product. With those "digital production chains" the traditional carpentry has developed into a company that uses most modern manufacturing processes.
