There is no further translation. drawing - machine process 2 - photo to mesh In this process there is two levels of translation at the screen level. The first niveau is at the photograph step where the original image can be altered in order to affect its final meshing in Maya. The second niveau is at the Maya step, where the mesh variables can be altered. One can also change the mesh itself with local distortions. drawing - machine process 3 - hand drawing to tracing to polygones In this process there are two different directions of translation. The first is to go from the trace image, convert it to closed polygones (Vectorwork), and define each form as a nurb surface. This drawing is directly imported into the next step.
