Pia Fricker was studying Architecture at the University of Karlsruhe (T.H.) During her studies she got the linkage scholarship for studying at the University of Tampere (T.U.T) and at the University of Helsinki (H.U.T) in Finland. She graduated in the year 2001 with her diploma work „mediacenter hafencity“ at the chair of Prof. Dr. Uhlig (urban design) and Prof. Dr. Henri Bava (landscape design) with the focus in urban design. After her studies she received the DAAD scholarship for her post-graduate studies at the chair for Computer - Aided - Architectural - Design, Prof. Dr. Ludger Hovestadt, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zürich. Throughout the postgraduate studies she expanded her proficiencies in computer based architectural design and automatic production technologies. The whole course finished their studies with the international awarded ESG pavilion. Pia Fricker gained professional experience in architectural offices such as, TALLI OY. Helsinki, Büro für Baukonstruktion, Poertner, Haller, Wenzel, Frese. Karlsruhe, arc Architekten. Zürich. To intensify her knowledge in the field of Computer-Aided- Architectural-Design, she holds a position as teaching leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer | | assistant at the chair for CAAD, Prof. Dr. Ludger Hovestadt, ETH Zürich. Her teaching interests focuses on the pragmatic use and implementation of CAAD instruments in the professional field of an architect. Since 2003 she is part-time working at the chair for CAAD and is responsible for the curriculum of the CAAD-education in the bachelor course of architecture. Since today several courses took place, starting 2004 with a course together with Mathias Ochsendorf: Generative Interfaces and Scenarios - Interaction in Intelligent Architecture. 2005 together with Christoph Schindler und Kai Rüdenauer: Parametrical Design – Production of a Lamp – Design through Programming. Besides the bachelor course she holds in 2005 the course Cityscan °Istanbul, together with Alexandre Kappellos. Since this semester she started with the further education „Didaktischer Ausweis“ at the ETH to immerse herself in didactics and education science. |
