The title Private, Product-based Urbanism suggests a specific form of urbanization by large-scale, private housing development, which provide in a way more than just the basic needs of living; the urban and architectural form promise rather more a certain lifestyle. This customized lifestyle is total and by its nature highly artificial; it is total in the sense, that it contains not only a certain architectural and urbanistic style but also a way of consuming (shopping, leisure… in the community) and maintenance (binding rules…).
