In the course of the thesis, a strategy is worked out for the currently vacant peninsula of Kallang in Singapore, which is under high development pressure. The strategy is based on an observation of Singapore’s planning logics and generates, out of these logics, a new approach to plan on the peninsula. The site is subdivided into a park and a densely built, mixed-use strip in the north. While the park is mainly publicly used, the built- up strip is sensibly subdivided between public, semi-public and private spaces. The chosen strategy can be implemented gradually and is functionally intertwined with the surrounding urban structure.
