Metaxia Markaki, born in Athens 1987, is an architect and urban researcher. She studied Architecture at NTU-Athens and ENSAPLV-Paris, receiving her Diploma with honors. In 2012 she pursued a Master of Advanced Studies in Urban Design at ETH Zurich, during which she investigated alternative urban design strategies in Brazil. Metaxia’s research on urban conditions is carried out through projects, participation in competitions, workshops and writing. Her work has received several distinctions and awards and she has participated in various publications and exhibitions in Europe and Latin America. After gaining experience in Zurich, Athens and Paris, she joined ETH Studio Basel as a research and teaching assistant.
